My Holiday Home in Wernigerode
Due to its attractiveness as a medieval town with timber-frame buildings, surrounded by forests, hiking and cycling trails, Wernigerode is visited by countless visitors every year.
The historic old town with its market square and town hall as well as numerous sights are within just a few minutes walking distance of your holiday home if you walk along the river Holtemme over the pedestrian bridge. From there you can nostalgically visit the legendary castle that is located high above the town in comfort by taking the Wernigeröde Bimmelbahn (narrow-gauge railway for tourists) or with the horse-drawn carriage.
The central station is in the immediate vicinity of your holiday home. It is thus possible to travel here in comfort without your own car. The Harz narrow-gauge railways also set off from the central station to travel through the Harz mountains or up to the Brocken mountain that is some 1141 metres high in addition to numerous public bus lines of the Harz district council as well as other selected lines.
